WeWorkingWomen began with a simple belief: women need spaces where their voices are heard, their experiences are valued, and their growth is supported.
What started as a platform for sharing women’s stories has grown into a wider community shaped by conversations, events, programs, and meaningful relationships.
Behind this growth is a team of women who believe in connection, learning, visibility, and support. Together, we create spaces where women can meet, reflect, grow, and move forward with confidence.
Founder-Sherry Zhang
Founder & President · Toronto Lead
Sherry Zhang is the Founder and President of WeWorkingWomen (女仕界), Canada’s leading community platform for Chinese women. Since founding the organization in Toronto in 2015, she has grown it into a cross-Canada community with more than 100,000 subscribers, supporting women through media, events, learning programs, and professional coaching.
Drawing from her own experience building a career in Canada as an immigrant woman, Sherry is passionate about creating greater access to professional development, entrepreneurship, personal growth, and community support. A certified Erickson International coach, she is a respected mentor and advocate for women’s leadership and development. Her work has been featured in The Globe and Mail and OMNI News, and she received the 2025 Outstanding Women Leadership Award from the Markham Richmond Hill & Vaughan Chinese Business Association.

Cynthia “Xiaoxi” Wang
Head of Content · Montreal Lead
Xiaoxi (Cynthia) is the Montreal Lead and Head of Content at WeWorkingWomen, where she oversees the platform's editorial strategy and leads the planning, interviewing, and writing of its signature profiles and original content. She is responsible for maintaining the quality, voice, and brand expression of WeWorkingWomen's storytelling initiatives, bringing to life the inspiring journeys of Chinese Canadian women through authentic and impactful narratives.
Passionate about the power of storytelling, Xiaoxi is committed to highlighting the growth, leadership, and social impact of women across Canada. Through thoughtful and compelling content, she strives to amplify diverse voices, foster meaningful connections, and celebrate the individuals who are shaping their communities and inspiring future generations.
Lisa Wang
Program Director · Vancouver Lead
Lisa Wang is Program Director and Vancouver Lead at WeWorkingWomen, where she oversees the development and delivery of signature programs including book clubs, coaching circles, online workshops, community events, and regional initiatives. As a Relationship and Personal Growth Coach, Lisa focuses on intimate relationships, marriage and family, and women’s personal development. Her academic background includes doctoral-level studies in Educational Psychology and Marriage and Family Education. Lisa believes that healthy relationships and inner growth are essential foundations for a fulfilling life. Through coaching, meaningful dialogue, and transformative learning experiences, she supports women in developing greater self-awareness, building harmonious relationships and families, and creating lives with more confidence, connection, and purpose.
Ella Chen
Operations & Community Experience Lead
Ella Chen is Operations & Community Experience Lead at WeWorkingWomen, overseeing program and event delivery, project management, volunteer coordination, community operations, and member experience. With nearly two decades of hospitality management experience, Ella brings a strong background in customer service, operational leadership, and thoughtful experience design. She believes that thriving communities are built not only through meaningful connections, but also through the care and attention invested in every interaction. An accomplished photographer, Ella also documents the candid moments and shared experiences that bring the spirit of WeWorkingWomen’s community to life. Through creativity, professionalism, and genuine care, she helps create welcoming experiences where women can connect, feel a sense of belonging, and discover new opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Ashleigh Au
Communications Director
Ashleigh Au leads communications and external relations at WeWorkingWomen, helping connect the organization with Canada’s broader cultural, business, and community sectors. Her work spans strategic communications, organizational positioning, event development, partnerships, sponsorships, and stakeholder engagement. A second-generation Chinese Canadian with more than 20 years of cross-border public relations and communications experience, Ashleigh has lived and worked extensively in China. Her bicultural perspective gives her a unique understanding of how to build meaningful bridges between communities. She is passionate about elevating the visibility and contributions of Chinese Canadian women and creating opportunities for collaboration, ensuring their stories and perspectives are recognized as an important part of Canada’s evolving social and cultural landscape.
